The Selectboard is the Town of Brentwood's governing body and members are charged with managing the prudential affairs of the town. Selectboard members manage the budget, prepare the warrant for Town Meeting, and carry out the policies adopted by Town Meeting. The Selectboard also manages town property and roads, town records, and has supervisory authority over certain key officials such as the Road Agent, Police Chief and an appointed Fire Chief. The Selectboard appoints a Town Administrator to be in charge of day-to-day operations of the Town and to implement policies. 

Meetings
The Selectboard meets on Tuesdays at the Town Office starting at 6:00pm. Meetings occur weekly from September through March and on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday from April through August.

Membership

The Selectboard has a total of 5 members:

  • 5 voting members are elected to serve three-year terms, on a staggered basis 

Future Open Seats
Eligible candidates include U.S. Citizens residing in the Town of Brentwood and who are registered to vote. Residents with a prior interest in all aspects of local town government, including but not limited to having served as an elected or appointed official on another town board or body.
