Location
Brentwood is a town in the southeast region of New Hampshire in Rockingham County. Brentwood has been the county seat of Rockingham County since 1997. The town is bordered by Epping to the north, Exeter to the east, Kingston to the south, and Fremont to the west. It is about 40 miles from Concord, the state capitol, 25 miles from Manchester, 24 miles from Portsmouth, 75 miles from Portland, Maine and 50 miles from Boston, Massachusetts.
Geography
Brentwood lies within the Seacoast Region of New Hampshire. The highest point in Brentwood is Great Hill, at 266 feet above sea level, whose summit is in the southeast corner of the town. The town is drained by the Exeter River and its tributary Dudley Brook. The Piscassic River, a tributary of the Lamprey River, crosses the northwest corner of the town. Brentwood lies fully within the Piscataqua River (Coastal) watershed.
