About Us
The Regional Associations Committee (RAC) was established in
June, 2019 and charged with establishing an application and review process for regional
associations (charities) seeking funding from the Town of Brentwood.
The criteria for charities applying for funding
consideration are:
• be a 501 c (3) charitable organization;
• provide direct
services in town to Brentwood residents;
• have an established NH headquarters;
• be registered in good standing with the NH Attorney General’s Office.
To request an application, contact the Town
Administrator. The application period is Labor Day through October 30 of the
current budget year, for funding for the following budget year. The RAC meets,
after the application period closes, to discuss and make funding
recommendations. The meeting date varies, depending on the number of
applications, and any follow-up by the committee chair to clarify or gather
more information.
Following that meeting, the RAC chair meets with the Selectboard, presents
a report on the RAC’s decisions and answers any questions. After the town
budget is passed at Town Meeting in March, the Town Administrator sends notification
letters of funds granted to the regional association applicants by April 15.
Meetings:
The committee meets once annually after the close of the application period, typically in December or January.
Membership
The Regional Associations Committee has a total of 6 members:
- 5 voting members are appointed by the Selectboard, serving three-year staggered terms
- 1 alternate is appointed by the Selectboard
To avoid a conflict of interest, members of the Committee may not vote to approve funding to an organization for which they serve on the Board, or with which they have a direct relationship.
