Any couple wishing to be married in the state of New Hampshire must obtain a marriage license from a New Hampshire Town Clerk.
Effective 7/4/2006 a New Hampshire marriage license is valid for 90 days from the date the intent is filed and the 3 day waiting period no longer applies. Both parties must be present to obtain a license, positive identification will be required.
If either party has been previously married or widowed they will need to provide a copy of a divorce decree or death certificate from the most recent marriage.
The fee for the marriage license is $50.00.
